I do find that having a preplanned menu works really well for step 3 and for budgeting.
And eating before shopping is another wonderful habit.

: lunch, so I was very hungry. In

: stomach. But not today.
: Even though I was eager to get the
: shopping done, I stopped at a
: nearby convenience store and
: bought a salad with chicken
: breast, egg, blue cheese (lots of
: protein) and ate it prior to
: shopping.
: When I did finally shop, I was able
: to make better choices and enjoy
: the experience a lot more than
: when I'm hungry.
: These little victories are what help
: keep me going, and I can't believe
: how much my habits have changed
: over the past month and a half
