They say it takes at least 21 days to establish a new habit, and I have found that adding things in too fast means everything gets dropped. I think of it like learning to juggle. If you try 3 balls before you have mastered 2 balls, you will probably drop all the balls.

First, I would work on finding a breakfast that you like and that works well for you and has adequate protein, and then I'd just work on that for at least a month, until you feel steady with it Other people may have different suggestions of how much time.
