great ideas Allison
KirAnn, a subject dear to my heart

I had no intention of giving up caffeine ever :h6) I was planning to be radiant on strong black coffee and that was that

so I wasnt in any frame of mind to stop it on step three

then a funny thing happened by itself. Sometime into step six, I just didn't fancy it as much. I actually 'went off' it a bit. This was the most surprising thing ever

maybe was less complicated because I always drank it black, but that process of it really surprised me, my body letting me know, and me able to hear

I did a taper in step six, and yes I did move it to meals then...… because it wasn't half so attractive at mealtimes as it was inbetween which seemed an interesting message to me, and step three learning and techniques still being useful always :h10)

the other thing I found most important was finding a decaf coffee that I really liked. Im a fussy coffee snob :h6) . I suppose I still get a little caffeine in the decaf that I still drink, but it sits well with me, no repercussions says journal

the actual taper was a non event, amazing as I had stopped caffeine cold turkey many nail biting hair pulling times before, sometimes for six months or so...… I think its 12 years now.. Couple of times Ive been given caffeinated in a restaurant by mistake and not slept most of the night - to think it used to be 12 + a day !

good luck with whatever you decide Kir Ann and keep us posted about your step three ! looks like you are doing great
