Bummer! I totally understand the discombobulation. I hope you find another suitable Indian restaurant.
We get pizza every once in a while (I get gluten free) and there was a place we really liked that had really good crust and were very generous with their toppings, and they moved across the river. Very sad. But maybe just as well, because pizza isn't the best meal for either of us.
I haven't had Indian food in a while. We had an issue with the place we were going and need to find another, so you and I can be on opposite sides of the ocean researching restaurants. In the meantime, I have a gift certificate for a Mediterranean grill that I have never tried, and the menu looks very suitable, so I will have to give that a try.

: something happened over New Year that
: shook me up a bit
: my favourite indian restaurant has
: closed down !
: I am a little bit in mourning because
: we have been doing their
: take-aways, and some birthdays,
: since about 1986 it was part
: of our traditions and so reliable
: food wise for me. it is surprising
: what a big deal this is !
: Most discombobulated, we got a last
: minute takeaway from the next
: nearest local over New years...…..
: their chutneys were so sweet
: and I think the tikka masala had a
: tinned tomato soup base
: the trouble is, peoples
: recommendations are not based on
: sugar and gluten free
: generally speaking. So it is a
: case of personal research..... a
: tough job...…... but I will
: step up to the challenge it
: is really important !
: on the bright side, I saw a Jamie
: Oliver chutney recipe that was
: really easy, ( one can not have
: poppadums without chutneys!) I
: shall do that and freeze some for
: takeaway day..... my real
: favourite restaurant is only a
: train ride away so that'll be nice
: for eat-in celebrations. I shall
: collect all the local menus for a
: browse and try a few more out
: we only do the takeaway
: high-days-and-holidays so not that
: often. But the quest is on
