I know that it seems counterintuitive. But when I was eating an inadequate breakfast, I was starving all day and always ended up visiting the candy machine later in the day When I started eating enough food and protein at breakfast, it was such a relief. I didn't get hungry until 4 or more hours later, instead of within an hour.

Some people do gain a bit of weight at the beginning, but then they lose that weight later in the steps as their eating habits begin to change.

Also, many people skimp on meals and then binge later, and that pattern can't change without taking a leap of faith and eating enough of the right foods at meals.
