Super bowl party

On Sunday, my husband and I went to a super bowl party at our next door neighbors' house. I am not into football at all, and prefer to think of it as superb owl Sunday, but the party is fun, with good food and good company.

Usually there are appetizers at the beginning of the party, and more substantial food is served at half-time. My favorite appetizer is the pigs in blankets with mustard for dipping, but now that I am not eating wheat, that isn't an option for me. We brought smoked salmon, boursin cheese and Crunchmaster gluten-free crackers as our contribution. I had some of that, along with some shrimp and cocktail sauce and some carrots and celery.

During half-time, I had chili, and there was also barbeque turkey and brisket that I had. I use a tiny bit of the spicy sauce. There was also home-made coleslaw. It wasn't sweet, so I had some of that. The food was not my usual but it was good.
