I knew it had to be something like that, because tortilla chips don't effect me the same way, although the blue corn ones are really satisfying but not "more-ish" and the other types they sell in the store, the yellow or white ones, are saltier and have less substance and feel more "more-ish", but I don't like them nearly as well.
Oddly, I don't usually like really salty foods. I don't like the way I feel really thirsty and kind of dried out after eating something really salty. And Fritos are the only snack food that make me feel gross and kind of sick after I eat them, if I eat more than a very small serving. Meanwhile, potato chips don't interest me at all, except for Cape Cod reduced fat chips.
The only one of these foods I eat at all regularly is blue corn tortilla chips, and even those I don't eat all that frequently.

: This struck me. Why Fritos? I have
: the same reaction
: I went and looked at the ingredients.
: Corn, corn oil and salt.
: a small package is 28 grams or 1
: ounce
: We usually think of a small *serving*
: of carbs as around 3 ounces of
: something
: So if we were using Fritos as our
: meal carb, we would get 30 grams
: of fat and
: 521 grams of sodium.
: I think it is the density of fat and
: sodium combined. But this is
: touching something in me.
: So I went and looked up the
: relationship between sodium and
: beta-endorphin. High sodium =
: release of beta-endorphin in some
: people.
: Whew, think about that one for a
: while. Look for more from me.
