: Today my granddaughter was diagnosed: with leukemia.
: She's 4 years old.
: I spent the day babysitting for her: younger brother, as her parents: were in the hospital with her.
: Needless to say, my food was nothing: to write home about today.
: I didn't fret and just did the best I: could.
: Later this evening, I ate some left: over salmon and cucumber.
: Then a bowl of cornflakes with milk -
: not my best brown, to make an
: understatement.
: But knowing what to eat, and eating
: as best I could under the
: circumstances, brought a lot of
: calm for me.
: I adopt your wise words, Chloe -
: doing solutions and not emotional: distraught.

Hi Sarit,
there really are no words to respond to this kind of pain.
It just makes no sense to both our brains and hearts.
The only comfort is that in these days this kind of diagnosis
is so much more treatable.
And yes, we will. hold you as you hold them. And cornflakes can be comfort.
Love,
Kathleen
