My experience of OA was the same as you describe, Allison, but interestingly I saw a reference recently to this passage from the AA Big Book, which I think comes much closer to my own experience of RR:

“That is the miracle of it. We are not fighting it, neither are we avoiding temptation. We feel as though we had been placed in a position of neutrality — safe and protected. We have not even sworn off. Instead, the problem has been removed. It does not exist for us."

*That* is what I have had glimpses of on this program, and sounds like what I hear other people talking about ...
