I have been doing the program for years, and I have always used some fruit in my protein shake. I use mixed berries. Banana makes it nice and creamy, but if I use banana, I only use a half or third of one because my taste buds have changed over the years. I think you are much better off using fruit to add a bit of sweetness rather than using a sweetened milk or protein powder. (Of course, if you are just starting out, put whatever you want in it. The important thing is to get the protein.)
