We had planned to go hiking on Thanksgiving, but somehow the oven got turned off while my sweet potato pie was baking so everything took longer than it was supposed to. We ended up just going for a walk in the woods near the house. We heard a Great Horned Owl hooting in the woods but never found it.

Because we were supposed to be out hiking during the day, we did a chuck roast in the slow cooker instead of a turkey. It was a peaceful day, although it didn't turn out the way we had planned.
