This continues to be a really weird holiday season. We did stop in at one of our favorite stores on Saturday. We usually try to do our Christmas shopping there - it's a shop that sells things made by seniors (55+) and it's a charity so the artist gets the entire purchase price of the item. There are wonderful things there and they are priced very reasonably. The store was not crowded so we enjoyed browsing (and did actually buy some things). Timing on weekends always takes some managing because by the time my husband is ready to leave the house, it's nearing my lunch time. This time I suggested we eat lunch at home first and then go do errands and that worked well.
Yesterday we participated in the Christmas Bird Count and learned that glasses and binoculars fog up repeatedly if you are wearing a mask outside in the cold. I usually only wear a mask outside if there are other people around, but we were in a state park and masks are required.
I have kept myself going during the pandemic by doing steady food, spending time outdoors, and by working on creative projects. Some of those projects are completed now, so I will look for something new to work on. I think that is key for me. I have a lot of creativity and imagination and I am happiest when I am using them, especially when I am creating things for other people.
