cheese curds

This feels really nerdy, but I'm so in love with melted cheese curds these days, I couldn't help but to share.

It started like this: I'd been using cheese in my breakfast burritos for a while. Well, one morning I got up to discover that all the block cheese, sliced cheese, and shredded cheese were completely gone. We had a package of cheese curds, though. Desperate to meet my protein goal for breakfast, I put them in my breakfast burrito--melted well--with sausage, eggs, and potatoes.

OMG. Best. Thing. Ever. I've practically become addicted-- ;-) --to melted cheese curds. There is something extra gooey or thick or salty or something about the way they melt.

I'm not sure you can get them just anywhere, but I found them at Albertson's. I remember seeing them at Trader Joe's in the past, but I'm not sure if they still carry them. These were the white cheddar ones, if anyone is even interested.
