** Testimonial for the Week**
JoAnna (Radiantvegetarians), Columnist

Barb got some great news from her doctor after doing the food.

In the last few months, I have seriously worked this program. I kind of resigned myself to the fact that this was the ONLY way for me. It has been wonderful! This has been a peaceful journey of letting the food lead the way. I am eating three healthy, satisfying meals, exercising every day and drinking plenty of water. I don't drink coffee or caffinated drinks. My life feels like a gigantic breath of fresh air. And it isn't even hard. My kids and husband are making better food choices because I am setting a much better example!

And now the best news of all....I went to the doctor's yesterday for my annual checkup. I am 11 pounds down from last year, without even trying. And my cholesterol is down from 288 last year to 228...60 points! I am amazed!

My mom's cholesterol was over 300 before taking meds and now she is battling with high liver enzymes when she does take her medication. When they take her off the meds, her cholesterol shoots back up. Also, my dad had a stroke on August 26. That's why I feel that it's a miracle for my cholesterol to have dropped as much as it did. This program is truly that miracle!

My doctor is so pleased and she just keeps saying "Whatever you're doing, just keep doing it." My life has been one of bulimia, anorexia, compulsive exercising, compulsive eating and never seeming to have any kind of control. Thanks to Kathleen for all her research and thanks to all who post. It has been a tremendous help!!! I feel like I am seeing normalcy in my life for the first time and it feels great!

**Recipe of the Week**
Naomi (RadiantYisroel), Columnist

Here is a yummy stuffing recipe, perfect for Thanksgiving. Heat oil in skillet over medium-high heat. Cook celery, onion, salt, pepper and garlic, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are tender; remove from heat. Toss celery mixture and remaining ingredients. Either stuff your turkey or bake alongside in a separate dish.

If you thought YLD was only about weight loss, we are having way more fun than that (smile). The YLD step 7 list has just been rocking lately! We've been talking about what life on step 7 looks like and reaching some really interesting insights. It turns out that step 7 isn't a destination, it's really the beginning of a whole new journey. Our problem-solving skills improve, we don't turn things into crises but handle them with humor instead, and we begin to discover radiance in all the things we do, not just the food. We've also been talking in the chats with Kathleen about how to handle Thanksgiving and the December holidays. Come on over and join the fun!

**Radiant Ambassadors**
Terri (Radiantambassadors), Columnist

Peggy is doing a great job as an ambassador. As you can see from her story below, making a difference in other people's lives is exciting:

I just wanted to report a little success re: getting the word out. I have an art studio and teach adults and children various art media. This school year I made a decision to have a sugar free studio...I provide snacks and drinks for all who come and have always just had stuff that folks would eat and drink along with my healthy stuff. It was interesting to notice which children were upset when I announced that when the sodas, etc. were gone in the fridge there would be no more. Oh my!! I will have "fizzy" water for them to add to juice (no sugar, HF corn syrup, etc.) if they want more than water. I am weaning them from white stuff as well, but this will take a bit longer, I suspect.

This past week I received 10 LSA books and already 2 have gone out the door, along with the cards. A small, but exciting beginning.

If you love the program, consider joining the ambassador group. We are having a blast!

If you haven't gotten any cards to pass out yet, order them now. They are free! It is a great way to spread the word.

**David's Corner **

I asked David if I could write something for the store this week. I had not been having my regular George's Shake every morning because I was doing a lot of testing for the final revision of George's Junior. I missed it. My body missed it. About a week ago, I got my body back on track. MAN, is that a wonder food!!! I love shake. I love George. If you haven't tried it, get some. It is just a perfect solution for breakfast.

If you haven't been to the store for a while, how about just coming over and browsing. You will be thrilled to see all the changes!

Please send questions and suggestions for items you might like to see in our store. YOU are building our store. Tell me what you want and we will sort it out.

Thanks
David

And of course, we have something for everybody in our store

Carrie wants you to know the importance of breakfast and the benefits of joining the RadiantBreakfast group:

Most of us underestimate the importance of breakfast and try to do all the steps in the first week. When that doesn't work, we begin again. We concentrate on Step 1, breakfast, and find our lives begin to change.

The RadiantBreakfast list is a great place to learn the nuances of breakfast, build a strong foundation for the rest of the Steps, and find how helpful it is to share our journey with others. It is great for new people and those who have been on the program a long time. Sharing helps everyone.

The awesome thing is we all, Step 1 or Step 7, eat breakfast every single day. How cool is that?

We'd love it for you to Sign up: We love new members!

Val's Story

Throughout most of my life, although sweets and sugary treats were an occasional problem, my main downfall was white foods, especially pastas and breads. But it seemed that as I entered my forties, I was starting to have more and more problems with sweets too. At the same time, it seemed like I was also getting moodier and harder to live with. I couldn't figure it out -- how could such a together, working- on-herself kinda gal as me be such a pain in the behind with her family? Well, I got my answer...

I found Radiant Recovery in January of 2002, following a major depression capped off by a several-week bout of pneumonia. I had vowed from my sickbed that IF I ever got better, I would do whatever it took to heal my body, mind, and spirit. Lo and behold, shortly after I returned to work, I overheard my manager talking about Kathleen's work. I did a quick Google search and found the Radiant Recovery web site. Long story short, I started with breakfast on January 13, 2002, detoxed in October of 2002, and I haven't looked back. I felt so much better so quickly that I had no doubt I was doing exactly the right thing for my body, mind, and spirit.

Doing this program has given my life back and given me the ability to plan a career change (I am finishing a massage therapy program and planning to start a practice in the next year). I know I could not have done any of this without the steadiness I've found by just "doing the food." It's truly a gift to be a part of this community, and I look forward to continuing on this journey with all of you!
