I find this interesting. Growing up I would have full blow panic attacks if I saw any violence on the TV at all. Thank goodness we did not watch too much TV we were outside playing most of the time. But I still have vivid memories of shows that I watched when my babysitter was there or when I was at my grand parents house and that was close to 35 years ago. Those memories still upset me. I was even unable to watch the news due to all the violence. I could not even watch Miami Vice because people got shot and killed. I NEVER watched a horror show that was out of the question. But my Dad let me go to the theater with a friend once. I was really young. I walked out of the show after a little while. I could not handle it. It messed me up for years (it was a star trek movie). When I asked my father why he let me go he said he did it because he knew I would throw a fit until I got my way.

The horror show of my day for me was Star wars. I can not tell you how many years I had nightmares of Darth Vader. Even to this day I freak out about him. I don't think I have watched any of them all the way through (accept for the last one that came out several years ago). But Darth Vader and those men in the white suits haunted my childhood for years.

The news used to upset me until I started this program and now I look forward to watching the news every night. And Darth Vader showed up at my house on Halloween and I hardly reacted (LOL).
