In that case, if you have a PC, all you need to do is follow the instructions on this page:

This allows you to download and install the FREE - Java Runtime Environment
It's very straightforward.

If you have a Mac, I think the better link is the one Kathleen posted to the YLD list. I made a note that is
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/java2se50release1.html This is the Mac version
