Karen's Story

I left London yesterday at 4.00 pm eating the cheese and oatcakes in my handbag as a planned snack in case there was a delay on the way home.  Well there was a delay - huge traffic jam!  I sat for over an hour without moving.  I realised dinner could be late.  Half an hour later and I still hadn't moved and I remembered that there was some left over lunch, and as it was now dinner time so I decided to eat that.  I knew there wasn't enough for a real meal but there was enough to keep my blood sugar steady.  So I got out of the car, found the bag with lunch in the boot and got back in the car.

I opened the bag to see that the salad box had split a bit and there was 'soggy stuff' everywhere.  The food was really messy.  Umm.... I was wearing an expensive suit - with a silk skirt.  It didnt take any thought process to realise I couldn't eat the food in the car without getting something on the suit and possibly wrecking the skirt  So what is a girl concerned about step 3 to do?

Simple, get back out of the car, remove the jacket and the skirt - place them on the back seat, get back in the car and eat.   (Thank goodness for the petticoat!)  When I got home my partner asked, as I got out of the car, why I was not properly dressed.    I needed to eat I explained, and he roared with laughter.   But of course, he understood.
