Melatonin


Melatonin is a powerful hormone which can suppres ovulation and cause abdominal pain. It is used as a birth control hormone in horses. Many people are not aware of this and think it is a simply an over-the-counter remedy for sleep problems.
I have a friend who spent 6 months in diagnostic hell and whose next step was ovarian exploratory surgery. I finally sat down with her and did some exploratory *other cause* discussion and discovered that her ovarian pain started one month after she started taking melatonin.
I went and did a fair amount of research....and it sure convinced me that for women it is NOT a good thing to take.
