Re: resistance

mosaic, Really encouraging to hear this. I have been discovering this trait in all aspects of my life. Interesting to see if/how that might change as I progress in the steps. Thanks for the support. :-)

JoEllen, As I read "commit to try it for an easy amount of time" I am already thinking "no I don't want to commit to anything, don't make me do it!" Hahaha! Case in point! Thank you for the suggestion and support. :-)

Actually as I write this, I feel like it's finally starting to come together, after several months on step one. The resistance lowered a bit once I approached things more gently.

One example is the timing. The first time I tried, I felt like I had to race the clock, eat as fast as I could so that I could finish on time. Sounds awful. No wonder I dug in my heels after a few days of that.

Then I got the idea to commit to just observe my timing for one week. I told myself I didn't have to try to finish within the hour yet, just see where I'm at and then work on improving it gradually. Lo and behold, I was already finishing within the hour most days without trying.

I do think doing the food (even though it was only step one and I wasn't doing it perfectly) helped me even get to that point. I have noticed other positive changes, such as reduced PMS and a little bit more energy.

May I ask how long you both have been doing the program?
