Hi Sandra

I have been doing steps 1-5 for about 3 years. I chose PNP instead of anti-depressants to combat post natal depression that just wouldn't shift. In April this year I first attempted stage 6 and I was doing ok until my birthday in August, which caused me to slip for a week or so. I had to do detox all over again! What an idiot! I then had another slip in September for a weekend when my auntie came to visit. I had a slip this weekend (2 home made fairy-cakes, a piece of homemade white bread and 3 squares of chocolate). So now technically only 2 days sugar free! I notice my slips are for a shorter duration each time because I feel sick and get a bad headache if I eat sugar now. These slips do however show me when I need to tighten up my programme.

I've come a long way from being the girl who had to ask the boss at work to hide the sweets n chocolates because they were singing to me!!!

The steps have stabilized my blood sugar too, so much so that I feel OK a lot of the time. I eat 3 meals a day with dense protein and 2 protein snacks (eg nuts mid-morning and cheese n Rye mid afternoon). I just don't get why I have to have fruit on its own after exercise to avoid the blood sugar drop. If I do protein and fruit it doesnt work I just get plain cranky. I am not diabetic but I do feel that something is still out of balance!

Anyway enough about me. I would be interested in hearing what step your on and how long have you being doing the programme.
Nina
