Yes journaling is a very good process. I'm not on step two but I think at least this whole ice cream/cake incident has helped me understand journaling more. I've also been known to down bowl of cereal and sugar. It's not so uncommon...it's nice to know that others have the same food issues that I do.
Currently my sister has a pint of extreme moosetracks ice cream in the freezer. It's been there for two weeks. For the life of me, I don't see why she doesn't eat it! Please eat it and put me out of my misery at seeing it every time i open the freezer!
